The History of Blue Skies Gallery
Blue Skies Gallery opened in Hampton in 1990 as a member’s gallery to support local artists and give them a store front to display and sell their work. It started in a small upstairs space and grew into its current location. The 5000 square foot space houses over 80, local and regional artists who contribute a variety of original art and fine crafts including painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, wood, and other mixed media. The gallery caters to young and old, with "something for everyone". Each artist works a day a month assisting customers. This communication between artist and collector benefits both. The gallery is well known for the quality and craftsmenship of the art displayed.
Blue Skies Gallery is proud to be a supporter of local artists in the Hampton Roads area and is involved with the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership to help Hampton grow and develop into a thriving community for its citizens and businesses.
